When five versions of the claim form enter the file
A practical way to preserve amendments while making the current claim position unmistakable.
Claim forms change as amounts are refined and facts are confirmed. The risk is not amendment itself; it is leaving the reader to guess which version represents the current position.
Name each file with a date and status, retain submitted versions, and place the current signed form at the front of the pack. A one-page change note can identify altered figures, corrected dates and newly added schedules without requiring a line-by-line comparison.
Never overwrite the only copy of a form already sent. Preserve the transmission email or portal receipt beside it. That record distinguishes a draft from the information actually before the decision-maker at a given time.
